Yung Gravy’s Gasanova Album. Slept On?
At the beginning of October in 2020 Yung Gravy blessed everyone with his 3rd studio album “Gasanova” with a phenomenal tracklist and a hand full of unexpected features. On the first track, you can find Gravy alongside Ski Mask the Slump God, and Trippy Tha Kid. The track is defiantly a perfect fit for the trio with the beat provided by Raisi K. Skipping over to track 3 you can find Bobby Raps, Who gravy quotes as “an inspiration” Followed by a track featuring Young Dolph who is also quoted as one of his “favorite Rappers”. This Album also features 2 Chief Keef tracks as well as 2 features from one of young gravy’s closest friends BBNO$.
The Music itself I find is a wide variety of Sub-Genres. Some songs are your usual Gravy “Foolery Trap”, with comedic lyrics over hard-hitting trap beats. Other tracks like yup! feature more of a Latino Inspiration while still delivering gravy’s classic sound, and this is expressed on a few other songs within the album. However, the last track is a Country Vibe (Not necessarily unexpected) that is somehow pulled off accompanied by Chief Keef! The overall versatility and quality put into this album are showing us the true artistry behind Young Gravy.
With the Talented feature list being Top Tier and Gravy still providing Lyrics like no other, I was underwhelmed not seeing it get as much buzz as anticipated. All things considered, this album is definitely worth checking out, along with Yung Gravy’s other hit tracks such as Mr. Clean and Whip a Tesla. His uniqueness is here to stay and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s up next from Yung Gravy.
