Lil Keed Strikes Gold With New Single “Fox 5”
Lil Keed is on a rapid ascension, carving a unique lane for himself within the Atlanta-trap scene that is dominating today’s soundscape. After expanding his profile in 2019 with his debut studio album Long Live Mexico and it’s hit track “Snake,” the upcoming creative is continuing to apply massive pressure in 2020. Most recently, Keed may have found another hit in his newest single “Fox 5” featuring Gunna.
“Fox 5” has been highly anticipated, after Keed and Gunna were filmed ducking gunfire during its video shoot. The song’s production comes from Supah Mario, the South Carolina native responsible for bangers with Lil Uzi Vert and Young Thug among others. Here, Mario contributes hard-punching 808s and a deep vocal loop that compliments the YSL artists’ deliveries.
While Gunna, who recently secured his first number one album, will certainly bring added attention to “Fox 5,” Keed is the track’s bona fide star. Standout moments include the song’s catchy refrain (“you know we don’t go to FOX 5!”) and its final verse, where Keed constantly alters his vocal pitch while sending shots at his ops (“I ain’t talkin’ motherfuckin’ testin’ Ray J, man, I come out that Wraith just with motherfuckin’ bangers – I let that cutter hit every angle, I come out that back, whips like I’m Django”)
