Lil Baby Gets More Conscious Than Ever On “The Bigger Picture”

Lil Baby is back with an unexpected single titled “The Bigger Picture” and its certainly his most socially conscious and  self aware track yet. The QC signee released the track in response to murder of George Floyd by police officers and the riots that have ensued following.

The song is definitely one that has a lot to unpack.

The Noah. & Section 8-produced instrumental isn’t Baby’s typical choice of beat but it’s distinct melody and unique triplet hi hats set the perfect backdrop for the Atlanta native to shine on. The cover art features him on a bike while attending the protests wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt. He lets out all his thoughts and frustrations over the continued killing, discrimination, and systemic racism against black people in America. The record’s hook is one that definitely sticks out with how harsh the truth really is. “Its bigger than black and white, Its a problem with the whole way of life” is one of the lines that sticks out the most.

This is the most personal and thought out track Lil Baby has released and shows the clear progression and growth he and his music have had since most were introduced to him with Drake assisted “Yes Indeed” in 2018. Baby has become one of the most developed and well performing rappers in the game is only going to continue to dominate leading into the second half of 2020.
