King Von Applying Pressure with the Release of How It Go
King Von is currently one of Chicago’s most sought-after superstars. Although Vons introduction to most rap listeners doesn’t stem from the music itself, he’s been able to win over the hearts of the modern drill listener. His sonic delivery varying from any of his Chicago peers allows him to thrive in today’s strong resurgence of drill. On “How it Go” Von approaches the track in the perspective of someone caught in the loop of street life and the prison system. Touching on a common thread needled in Black communities across the U.S, due to poverty and institutional racism. On the chorus Von preaches, “Let me tell you how it go in here, boy it’s kinda cold in here… Got n****s getting old in here, might lose your soul in here, been gone for a couple years.” His effortless ability to paint an image for his fans solely off his lyrics is the reason many gravitate towards his discography. Songs like “How it Go”, the Crazy Story series,and “Took her to the O” are why I deem Von one of the hottest story tellers in today’s age of rap. For more from King Von:
