Kanye West is back with a new track and music video.  This morning he released a song called “Wash Us in the Blood,” that came with a video directed by Arthur Jafa. The song comes from sessions Kanye and Dr. Dre had recently and has a feature from Travis Scott and production from Ronny J. The track is the first collaboration the two have had in several years and may mark a new chapter in Kanye and Travis’ relationship. 

   The record has a much darker tone than Kanye’s last musical effort “Jesus is King” which primarily had a lighter tone and gospel sound. The instrumental feels eerie despite it’s upbeat drums. It definitely leaves a feeling of uncertainty for Kanye’s upcoming record. Not uncertainty from quality but how the sound of the record will be. The visuals are as chaotic as the song itself and blend images of protests, prisons, video games, and violence with distorted images of Kanye West and Travis Scott.
