Juice WRLD’s Team Releases Animated “Wishing Well” Music Video
Its been almost 8 months since Juice WRLD’s tragic passing at Chicago Airport in late 2019, yet it still feels so fresh. Writing about posthumous music releases is challenging, putting together and releasing a posthumous album is worlds more difficult. Fortunately, Juice WRLD’s team put out a great album that respects and adds to his legacy with the release of “Legends Never Die”. His team has also released an animated music video for “Wishing Well”, a personal favorite of mine off the album.
The video, directed & animated by KDC VISIONS, features a 3D-animated version of Juice performing the song while surrounded by the tracks lyrical content as he says it. The track is produced by Dr. Luke and ChopsquadDJ and is the perfect backdrop and sets up Juice where he shines best. The energy on the track is electric and the melodies are so memorable. That isn’t to say the track is without some heavier and darker that talk about his addiction and drugs. The video is perfect for the track and they nailed the way he performs his songs.
This is the ideal rollout for a posthumous album and it brings back the feeling like he’s here. The album is slated to debut at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart and sell 450,000-470,000 units first week, making it the biggest debut of 2020. It’s good to see him get the support he deserves and the stardom he was headed for. It’s unfortunate he doesn’t get to be here for the success but like the title of the album says “Legends Never Die”.
What do you guys think about the video? Do you think “Legends Never Die” holds up to Juice’s other albums? Check it out and let us know!
