An Interview With: Max Winds, Recording Artist & CEO of Lost Souls Ent
Q: Tell us where you’re from my man!
Max: I was born in Windsor, Ontario then moved to Winnipeg.
Q: What are some of the challenges of making music in a smaller city like Winnipeg?
Max: The biggest challenges that I came across was the resources and support. When I first started making music in 2011-2012 there was barely anyone in the city tryna be in the music industry, this is why I was inspired to create a group of artists to collaborate with and learn from.
Q: You started your record label Lost Souls in high school correct?
Max: Yeah, I created Lost Souls Ent. when I was 15. At that point in my life I was lost, I knew I wanted to be rapper but I didn’t know if I had what it takes. So I came up with LS and decided that I wasn’t ever gonna give up.
Q: Why did you start a record label? Was this always the plan?
Max: I always idolized people like P Diddy, Rick Ross, and Nipsey Hussle they didn’t just make music for themselves, they put people in positions to make money and feed they family from doing what they love. I always wanted a family that felt like family, that’s why I started LS.
Q: With the recent success you and your team has had lately. What is your long term vision for Lost Souls?
Max: I see my team being the next TDE, the next QC, the next Death Row. We’re working on the LS tape right now and I can’t wait for the world to hear it. My long term goal is for us to run the music industry. Every time you walk in a room, all you’re gonna hear is LS.
Q: Tell us about your upcoming release “Dub Sack”
Max: JULY 22ND it’s going down, Dub Sack is produced by the best producer in the world Ryloui$ and shout out Vince Tang for doing an incredible job on the visuals. All 3 of us really went crazy for this single.
Q: Any plans for a project any time soon?
Max: Just know I’m always cooking up and working, I’m not focused on a tape right now but imma keep dropping singles for y’all.
Q: Who are some artists on Lost Souls we need to look out for?
Max: Man you gotta pay attention to everybody on Lost Souls! Cz, Lito, Payso, OhSoSlick, Dkay, Jay Nams, Travist, JTP, Sean2k, Sandman, I cant even name off all my boys but every single one of them is dope in they own way. Some sing, some rap and some of them are even on they punk shit. We gotta all over on my side.
